If You Want a Job Tomorrow, Cultivate Your Career Today by Dean Wampler

Somebody sent me the reference to this article, If You Want a Job Tomorrow, Cultivate Your Career Today by Dean Wampler and I want to share with you.

It is a really interesting article about certain things that you can do to improve your career, to keep it "fresh".

Most of the time, specially when we get comfortable in a job, we don't think to much about learning new things outside of what we do every day and we don't stop to think of what would happen if I lose this job, would my current experience help me to find a new one? am I competitive enough? what can I do to grow my network and collaborate with the community?

In this article you can find some answers to these questions. Something that caught my attention is that he mentions the involvement on users groups in your community, how they can help me cultivate my career. I know it is hard to be part of these groups or to start learning new things on your own time because it requires a lot of time and sometimes we don't have it, but on the long run, the most benefited is yourself.

What do you think?
